Perhaps one of Sefton's best-kept musical secrets is the wonderful performance space hidden in the bowels of Bootle Town Hall. When it first opened, the Town Hall would regularly host performances by some of the most well-known singers and instrumentalists of the time which would attract huge numbers of people to watch them. Today, however, few people even know of its existence. Now mostly used for amateur dramatics groups staging their latest shows or ballroom dancing meets. Its most recent musical performances were shows in 1997 and 1999 by The Searchers, another legendary 1960s band with strong Sefton links.
